Absolutely! At Artisan Ink & Needle Co., we take your safety, comfort, and well-being very seriously. We follow strict hygiene protocols and use only high-grade equipment, needles, and titanium or gold jewelry to ensure that your piercing is performed safe and clean. Your piercer will ask you some questions about diet and medications you may be on, and we will explain the entire process to you and possible complications. After your piercing is complete, we will go after proper aftercare procedures and what you can expect and could experience during the healing process.
We only pierce in a private room and have the ability to perform piercings behind closed doors. We automatically close the door(s) for Nipple piercings (Male or Female) and will happily close the door(s) for any other piercing if requested. Your comfort is extremely important to us, and you may bring a friend or parent with you for moral support. For piercings on minors, we can still close the door(s) if requested, but the parent is required by law to be in the room at all times during the procedure.
We use only certified and lab tested ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium jewelry and dermal implants from one of the largest and most reputable suppliers in the United States for your initial piercing. 14k Gold is also available, and is specially ordered from the same supplier.
We ONLY use sterilized, single use needles or biopsy punches to perform our piercings and dermal implants. We do not ever recommend getting a piercing using a "gun" or any other kind of device as they are more traumatic to the body and have a high risk of infection and other complications.
Your particular anatomy may not be suited for a specific piercing. We will be more than happy to take a look and recommend a different piercing if necessary. If you have been told by numerous piercers that you do not have the anatomy for a specific piercing, please do not try and find someone that will just do it. Just because it CAN be pierced, doesn't mean that it should!

Short answer, Yes. We can, on a case-by-case basis. You will need to bring your jewelry to us beforehand so that we can inspect it and determine if it is suitable to use for an initial piercing and suitable to be run through our sterilizer, as not all available jewelry is suitable for either. If we determine that it is suitable, we will need to clean and run the jewelry through our sterilizer prior to using it. this process can take a minimum of an hour to complete. We WILL NOT use Plastic, Silicone, or sterling silver jewelry for your initial pericing.

If you are an adult (18+), you HAVE to bring a valid (unexpired) government issued form of Identification. This can be a learners permit, a drivers license/Identification card, or a passport. If you have renewed your ID and have the paper copy that has your picture on it, that is acceptable. You cannot bring a parent and birth certificate in place of a government issued form of identification if you are over the age of 18. This is a requirement of the state, there are no exceptions.
Yes. State law allows for minors to get piercings. You will need to bring some form of Identification for YOU (government issued if you have it, or a school ID with your picture and first and last name on it.) You will also have to bring a Biological Parent with you. They will need their valid (unexpired) government issued ID, and they will need to bring your birth certificate. Your Parent that you bring with you MUST be listed on the birth certificate and they must be present and witness the entire process. These items and process are required by the state, there are no exceptions.
If the person you are bringing is your legal, court appointed guardian, you must ALSO bring the court papers with you declaring the person as having legal guardianship over you. It should just be the first 2 pages that certify this requirement, but its a good idea to bring all the documents with you, just in case. Your legal guardian MUST be present and witness the entire process. These items and process are required by the state, there are no exceptions.
First things first, if you have any medical issues or conditions, we recommend consulting with your physician prior to getting ANY kind of piercing. Secondly, We recommend that you drink LOTS of water for a few days leading up to your piercing, eat at least an hour before your piercing, and having a SMALL sweet snack just prior. (For our diabetic clients, please consult your physician and follow their recommended pre-piercing instructions.) It is also a good idea to make sure that the area is clean and free of any dirt/debris/makeup etc. prior to coming in for your piercing. We will clean and sterilize the area to be pierced, but there is no such thing as TOO clean. Lastly, RELAX! You're going to look GREAT!
